THE MAGNIFICENT, THEINCREDIBLE LAURA LINNEY IS HERE, HOW ARE YOU, LAURA? >> I'M GOOD, JAMES, HOW ARE YOU.

>> James: I'M GOOD, YOU LOOKVERY WELL.

SO NICE TO SEE YOU.

HOW ARE YOU DOING? BECAUSE I KNOW, DID YOU GET TOFINISH YOUR BROADWAY RUN BEFORE THE LOCKDOWN HAPPENED OR DID YOUGET LOCKDOWN AMID YOUR ONE WOMAN SHOW ON BROADWAY.

>> I HAD JUST FINISHED MY SHOW.

I WAS, AND THEN TWO WEEKS LATERTHEY CLOSED EVERYTHING DOWN.

>> James: WOW.

SO WHERE ARE YOU IN THE WORLDNOW.

ARE YOU STILL IN NEW YORK.

>> NO, I'M IN CONNECTICUT.

I HAVE A HOUSE UP HERE.

I'M HERE WITH MY FAMILY.

YOU KNOW, AND I MUST SAY, YOURSET LOOKS VERY PROFESSIONAL, JAMES.

>> James: WELL, WHAT PEOPLE.

>> I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITHTHAT.

>> James: MY GARAGE HAS ALWAYSLOOKED LIKE THIS.

THIS IS WHERE I WOULD COME INAND PRACTICE EVERY DAY.

>> IT IS THE ORIGIN OF ALL T HASTHE PATINA OF THAT, JAMES.

>> James: YOU'RE VERY SWEET, NOW YOU SAY ARE YOU THERE WITH YOUR FAMILY, I KNOW THAT YOU ANDYOUR HUSBAND, YOU JUST CELEBRATED YOUR 11th WEDDINGANNIVERSARY.

JUST THIS PAST WEEKEND.

HOW WAS IT? HOW DID IT GO? >> IT WENT OKAY.

IT WENT WELL.

WE MADE IT, TO 11 WHICH IS AMIRACLE.

>> James: YEAH, SURE.

>> NOT A MIRACLE BUT AMAZING, IDIDN'T THINK I WOULD EVER BE WITH SOMEONE THAT LONG.

>> James: WHAT DID YOU DO TOCELEBRATE SUCH AN OCCASION.

>> WELL, YOU KNOW, YOU'RE ALOAN.

YOU DON'T QUITE KNOW HOW TO SELLBRAIT SOMETHING LIKE THAT.

SO I THOUGHT MAYBE I COULDRE-CREATE THE MEAL THAT WE SERVED AT OUR WEDDING.

IT WAS LAMB AND CHEESE ANDCARROT CAKE AND IT WAS A REALLY WONDERFUL MEAL.

SO I VENTURED OUT WITH MY MASKAND MY GLOVES AND WENT TO THE GROCERY STORE.

I GOT EVERYTHING.

AND YOU KNOW, HAD IT ALL GOING, FEELING VERY GOOD ABOUT MYSELF.

WE HAD PROMISED THAT WE WOULDN'TDO ANYTHING FOR EACH OTHER.

SO IT WAS A BIT OF A SURPRISE.

I WAS SORT OF BREAKING MY OWNRULE.

I HAD THE PEAS IN THE OVEN, THESHALLOTS GOING, THE ONIONS, EVERYTHING HAPPENING AND I TOOKOUT THE LAMB AND THE WHOLE THING WAS FROZEN.

COMPLETELY FROZEN.

>> James: OH NO.

>> I HAD NO IDEA.

THIS WAS A HINT AS TO WHAT A BADCOOK I AM THAT THE ENTIRE RACK OF LAMB WAS FROZEN.

SO I CURSED AND CRIED ANDTHROUGH SOMETHING ACROSS, YOU ANOTHER, AS YOU DO WHEN ARE YOUIN A PANDEMIC.

WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO DOSOMETHING NICE AND IT DOESN'T WORK.

AND SO WE TOOK OUT TWO FORKS ANDATE THE CAKE AND I MADE THE LAMB THE NEXT DAY.

NO GOOD DEED, JAMES.

>> James: WELL, IT ST THE 11YEARS THAT REALLY COUNTS.

THAT IS THE THING.

>> YEAH.

>> James: I'M INTERESTED, THINK BEING THIS THIS MORNING.

ARE YOU I THINK IN MY EYES, YOUARE WILDLY REGARDED AS ONE OF THE FINEST ACTRESSES OF YOURGENERATION.

I'M INTERESTED TO KNOW, WHAT DOYOU CONSIDER THE LAUNCHING PALLED OF YOUR CAREER OR THEMOST PIVOTAL MOMENT IN YOUR CAREER.

>> MY BIG BREAK.

>> James: KIND OF, OR THETHING THAT TURNED YOUR MIND OR YOUR HEAD AWAY.

>> FOR ME, FOR ME IT WAS GETTINGA DRAMA SCHOOL, GETTING TOO JULLIARD, FOR ME THAT MADE ALLTHE DIFFERENCE.

>> James: WHAT IS THATEXPERIENCE LIKE, FOR ANYONE AT HOME WHAT THE EXPERIENCE IS LIKETO TRY AND GET INTO SUCH A PRESS TIJOUS DRAMA SCHOOL, WHAT STEPSDID YOU HAVE TO GO TO TO DO THAT.

>> IT'S ONE OF THOSE SORT OFINSTITUTIONS THAT I HAD KNOWN ABOUT FOR A LONG TIME ANDREVERED AND WAS A LITTLE SCARED OF.

I HAD NO IDEA WHAT TO EXPECT ANDQUITE TBRANGLY I DIDN'T REALLY THINK I WOULD EVER GET IN.

I REALLY DIDN'T.

I KNOW THE CHANCES WERE SOSMALL.

I SORT OF JUST THOUGHT WHAT THEHELL, MIGHT AS WELL GIVE IT A GO.

WHY NOT, WHAT DO I HAVE TO LOSE.

AND THERE WERE, SO THEY DO ITIN– THEY DO A SESSION IN THE MORNING.

AND THERE WERE LIKE 450 PEOPLEIN.

AND I WAS THE SECOND PERSON TOGO ON THE FIRST DAY.

AND I REMEMBER THE WOMAN WHOWENT IN BEFORE ME HAD A WIG STAND AND A SWORD.

SHE WENT IN, AND THEN THEY POSTTHE CALLBACKS FOR THE AFTERNOON.

AND SO THERE WERE 450 PEOPLECRACKED IN THE HALLWAY.

AND I THINK THERE WERE FOURNAMES.

>> James: OH MY WORD.

AND MY NAME WAS ONE OF THEM.

AND I WENT UP AND I SAW THAT MYNAME WAS THERE.

AND DON'T QUITE KNOW WHAT TO DOBECAUSE YOU SORT OF CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE SEEING YOUR NAME.

AND YOU CAN'T SHRIEK WITH JOYBECAUSE THERE ARE 4, YOU KNOW, 46 PEOPLE SOBBING AROUND YOU.

>> James: EVERYBODY ELSE ISHAVING A TERRIBLE MOMENT.

>> SO AND THEN IT IT IS AN ALLDAY THING.

SO I GOT THERE AT LIKE 8:30, ANDTHE CALL BACK WAS AT 2 OR 3 IN THE AFTERNOON.

I DID MY CALLBACK AND AGAIN, THEGIRL WHO WENT IN BEFORE ME WAS A DIFFERENT PERSON, BUT SHE CAMEBURSTING OUT OF THE ROOM SOBBING.

SHE WAS CRYING.

AND I WAS LIKE OH MY GOD, AREYOU ALL RIGHT.

SHE WAS LIKE YES, I DID ANIMPROV AND I CONNECT.

IT WAS WONDERFUL.

>> James: OH NO.

>> SKIPPING DOWN THE HALL.

>> AND I JUST THOUGHT WELL, I'MGOING TO FOLLOW THAT.

AND I WENT IN.

AND I DID MY PIECES.

I DID HERMI ORKSZ N FRERKS THEWINTER TALES VERY BADLY.

AND I DID A PIECE WHERE I WAS ABELLY DANCER WHICH MUST HAVE BEEN BETTER.

AND I FINISHED AND THERE WASDEAD SILENCE THE, THE ENTIRE FACULTY WAS.

THERE AND I HEARD SOMEONE SAYDOES ANYONE NEED TO SEE ANYTHING ELSE.

AND I WAS WAITING FOR THE IMPROVRNTIONZ THE SONG TO SING, SOMETHING.

AND THEY WENT THANK YOU VERYMUCH, THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.

>> James: AND THAT WAS IT.

>> WELL, OH WELL, I THOUGHTWELL, THAT WAS NICE.

THE GIRL WHO CONNECTED GOT IN.

I DIDN'T.

AND THEN MUCH TO MY SURPRISE IGOT IN.

I KNOW WE ARE ALL DAS TARDILY ONTHAT SHOW BUT BOY WE LIKE EACH OTHER, AND IT IS A GREAT, GREATJOB TO HAVE.

SO I AM VERY, VERY HAPPY THATPEOPLE ARE LIKING IT SO MUCH.

BUT SHE HAS THESE SINNISTERMOMENTS WHICH SHE DELIVERS.

>> SHE IS HE'S JUST TRYING TOSURVIVOR, JAMES.
